Acupuncture for Stress-Related Illnesses

by Dr. Alan Magner

Stress and the Holidays

As the major holiday seasons begin, stress often begins to increase. This is a great time to head off the development of chronic stress-related illnesses in ourselves and those we love.

All of us experience stress during many periods of our lives. We work our way through it and usually move on. But a small number don’t move on. We develop ongoing chronic illnesses that began as defective handling of the many stress-induced chemicals our bodies produce. We’re stuck in a rut of imbalance!

Stress-related illnesses may include chronic headaches, neck and back pain, muscle spasms, stomach problems, anxiety, depression, insomnia, chronic fatigue, palpitations, and many more.

Accupuncture can help relieve stress

Acupuncture is well known for its ability to alter and rebalance the stress-related chemicals in our bodies. When a properly trained acupuncturist repeatedly stimulates  points on the body that relate to the cause of the illness, the symptoms usually subside and go away. This healing occurs without side-effects.

We all know people who suffer from stress. We can become their “guardian angel” by helping them see that acupuncture can positively change their lives.

Call or recommend a qualified medical acupuncturist today to discuss this health-giving treatment.
