ACUPUNCTURE

Acupuncture is the practice of medicine through the use of very fine needles which are inserted just under the skin in order to help the body heal itself.  Acupuncture has its origin in China and has been practiced for more than 4000 years.  The practice of acupuncture has spread throughout the world with great success.  Unlike traditional medical or drug treatment, acupuncture has no side effects.

The basic premise of acupuncture is that the body functions best when its energy flow is normal.  When energy flow is obstructed or blocked, then the use of acupuncture will help to restore normal energy flow and help the body to heal itself.  The practice of acupuncture assumes that for most “illnesses” the body possesses the ability to heal itself—acupuncture is a way to facilitate self-healing.

The number of treatments needed to complete the healing process varies with the type of illness and age and general condition of the patient.  Since illness often occurs over a period of time, cures also take varying amounts of time.
